Comfort Zone

Mssage by Febyola Suryadi (Wednesday, 08 August 2018)

To walk in our calling, we need to walk out of our comfort zone. God has sent a comforter to us. The comforter is a helper for us when we are doing something. The Holy Spirit is the comforter. But the comforter can comfort us but also confront us.

Be sensitive to His voice to distinguish the difference between being comforted and being comfortable.

God is in charge of your destiny, but you are in charge of your destination. You are not called to be comfortable. It is essential to fulfil God’s promise in our lives.

Sometimes we criticise someone else to cover up our own dysfunctions. If we want to grow, we need to leave the comfort zone in order to move on in the process.

The Bible doesn’t tell us to comfort ourselves. It tells us to comfort others.

“Then Jesus began to openly denounce the cities where he had done most of his mighty miracles, because the people failed to turn away from sin and return to God…And Capernaum—do you really think you’ll be exalted because of the great miracles I have done there? No! You’ll be brought down to the depths of hell because of your rejection of me. For if the miracles I worked in your streets were done in Sodom, it would still be standing today!” (Matthew 11: 20, 23)

When you love comfort more than Christ, you run towards comfort and away from Christ. When you run away from God’s calling, you miss out on your own calling.
