A demonstration leads to a revelation

Message by Veronica Thung-Winata (Wednesday 17 October 2018)

"So when the centurion, who stood opposite Him, saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!”" - Mark 15:39

Centurions were known to be very patriotic and loyal to their leader. For this Centurion to go against his belief and all that he had known his whole life meant that He witnessed something truly phenomenal that gave him a whole new perspective on the events that had happened. This Centurion saw a demonstration from Jesus which then led to a revelation. The revelation that Jesus is the Son of God.

Jesus gave the ultimate demonstration. He demonstrated His love for us on that cross and we receive the revelation today. We understand His love for us.

“Your lives are like salt among the people. But if you, like salt, become bland, how can your ‘saltiness’ be restored? Flavorless salt is good for nothing and will be thrown out and trampled on by others.

“Your lives light up the world. Let others see your light from a distance, for how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop? And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place?Instead, it’s placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. So don’t hide your light!Let it shine brightly before others, so that the commendable things you do will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.” - Matthew 5:13-16 TPT

Just like Jesus is the demonstration, we need to be a demonstration of God's love to those who aren't aware of His love yet. It doesn't mean that you're Bible bashing people. It's through acts of kindness, acts of peace, acts of gentleness; It's through the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Be the change that world needs. God said do not hide a lamp, so don't hide your skills/talents that God has provided to you. Let others feel God's love through you. Let them notice a difference in you.

“And don’t be intimidated by those who are older than you; simply be the example they need to see by being faithful and true in all that you do. Speak the truth and live a life of purity and authentic love as you remain strong in your faith.” - 1 Timothy‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Don't let age become a barrier in you duty of demonstrating God's love. God doesn't differentiate the value of your service to Him. He sees everything as equal. Just because you're young, doesn't mean that you can't touch the hearts of those who don't know Jesus. Jesus is a prime example. At the age of 12 He was preaching to the elders and priests at the temple. Be like Jesus at the age of 12; brave and ready to serve God. Ready to be the demonstration the world needs today.

Don't let others become confused by your demonstration of God's love. People are constantly watching and the moment you decide to follow the ways of the world, people are going to confuse your actions as a demonstration of God's love. Be aware that EVERY demonstration you make does lead to a revelation. Whether it is a revelation of God's love or sin, depends on you.

You been blessed to share the blessings. God revealed His love for you so now it’s your turn to reveal His love to others.
